Trout require very little food when water tempratures are in the 30's. Fish at the warmest part of the day when water temperatures are going up. Once water temperature starts back down you may as well go home. A water thermometer is critical for winter fishing. Fish in the slowest deepest water you can find and make sure your nymphs are on the bottom.
